Resilience and Personal Power for Women


 

Your integrated self is the degree to which you can cause your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual selves to fit into a consistent and reliable whole YOU.

Personal power is an inner conviction about who you are, what you stand for, and the belief in your ability to get the things you want. People with optimal personal power define themselves from the "inside out" rather than "outside in."

Resilience is your ability to maintain this condition in the face of adversity, setback, and tough times. People with optimal resilience scores seem to have the ability to bounce back, to have reservoirs of optimism and resourcefulness even when life deals them a hard blow.

In our work in emotional intelligence, we have found that these two competencies, personal power, and resilience, serve as "superfood" to maintaining your integrated Self. When personal power is increased through re-imagining who you are beyond your negative states and resilience is increased through the art of relaxation and renewal, the integrated Self increases in strength, balance, and authenticity.

Objectives

• Construct a wheel of consciousness image of yourself to use on a daily basis.
• Learn physical and psychological techniques that push you beyond your normal responses to deal with setbacks.
